Top-shelf story
Piña Colada. Puerto Rico's baby. Coconut cream, pineapple juice, white rum. Sweet, tropical, and — surprise — nobody agrees who invented it. Three different guys claim they invented it.
Suspect number one: Ramón "Monchito" Marrero, bartender at the Caribe Hilton's Beachcomber Bar in San Juan. Story goes he was commissioned to invent a signature drink back in 1954, and Joan Crawford supposedly tried it and said it "was better than slapping Bette Davis in the face"
Suspect two: Ramón Portas Mingot, a different bartender working at the Barrachina Restaurant in Old San Juan, who says HE made it — but not until the 1960s, years after Marrero's version
